How it Works to be a Featured vocalist at the Showcase:
Featured vocalists get a ½ hr. rehearsal with our pianist and get to perform three of your tunes at the start of the night of one of our showcase dates. Cost for rehearsal is $25.
There will be various options for rehearsals times including weekdays and weeknights. Additional rehearsal times or different days can be arranged if you like.
Singers, please have your tunes and keys selected before the rehearsal and please bring sheet music.
At each showcase, after everyone has performed, later in the night it will become a jam session open to all vocalists. The showcases fill up fast so to reserve your spot contact:

- Join a Morningside Ensemble - vocalists are invited to be in weekly groups and meet for 1/2 of each session (45). The cost is $20/week. This provides an excellent way to rehearse and perform your material with a group that meets on a regular basis. Singers should come to first meeting with 3 songs ready to sing and should know their keys.
- Come to the Boston Jazz Singer Showcase/Open Mic - This is no ordinary jam session where you jump up on stage and try to make it happen on the fly. This is your chance to showcase your talent in front of your peers with a professional rhythm section. Instead of trying to wing it, you actually get to rehearse with pianist beforehand to work out arrangements and get expert coaching. Performances take place monthly, on Tuesday nights at the Loading Dock in Belmont and have been steadily gaining popularity since our first showcase in January of 2012 at Ryles Jazz Club . The 2nd set is an open mic when anybody can bring their charts and sit in with the band!
